Booking Dubai Hotels without a Credit Card
If you are booking a hotel online, you will normally require a credit card. You will then have to present the same credit card at the check-in time.
Credit Cards serve as collateral, in case the hotel staff find deliberate damage in the rooms caused by guests after they have left the property.
Credit Cards also make it easy for hotels and guests to charge auxiliary services as required. These may include room service, long distance phone calls, movies on demand, parking, laundry etc.
If you do not have a credit card at the time of check-in, or your credit card failed to authorize, then the hotel will require a cash deposit before they hand you the keys (or access cards). The deposit will be returned to you in full amount at check-out time, provided you left the room as it was provided to you.
If you do not have a credit card, you can reserve hotel rooms, by simply calling the hotel. If they agree, you will have to provide them your information. They may ask you for your driver’s license number or your Passport number to hold your reservation.
Sometimes, hotels will ask you to wire transfer a deposit amount in order to guarantee your reservation. Once the hotel confirms it has received your deposit, you don’t have anything else to worry about until you reach your destination.
Some hotel managers will ask you to pay for your stay in advance either in full or 50% at check-in time and 50% at check-out time.
With a credit card processing, these formalities can easily be eliminated.
Below are some hotels in Dubai, that are flexible in not requiring a Credit Card. Most of these hotels are cheap and are located in the old city.
