The Toronto Union Station is Canada’s busiest transportation hub. It is the central portion of the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor, and the GO Transit Rail Service. The Union Station Express (UP) connects Union Station and the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The Union Station is located on Front Street between Bay St and York St. It has quick access to Toronto’s financial core via the underground Path Network. It has a direct walk-ways to the Scotiabank Arena, the Metro Convention Centre the Rogers Centre and the CN Tower.

The Toronto harbour is barely a 5 minute walk away. From here you can get ferries to the Toronto Islands. The Billy Bishop Airport, however, is a significant walk away but you can catch a free shuttle form the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

The Fairmont Royal York is a landmark hotel for the city of Toronto. It was built in 1929 just across the street form Union Station to became one of Canada’s Grand Railway Hotels. A number of heads of states and foreign dignitaries have stayed here and it has been the residence of choice for the Canadian Monarchy. The Royal York is popular throughout the year for members of the film industry who tend to stay at length during production. It is also a host hotel for the Toronto International Film Festival.

The Fairmont Royal York has 28 floors and 1343 guest rooms and suites. The smallest rooms are 250 sq-ft and the largest suites are 1390 sq-ft in area. Every room comes with a work-desk and chair, a flat-Screen TV, coffee/tea making facilities and an automated mini-bar. If you need an extra fan or heater or a microwave or mini-fridge, these are made available upon request. Wi-Fi costs $17 for 24 hours.

The bathrooms are stocked with brand name toiletries. Most bathrooms have a standing shower with a rain-shower head. Some bathrooms in the queen rooms do have a deep-soaking tub in addition to the shower-stall.

The suites feature private bedrooms and a separate living area. They have two full bathrooms for added privacy. These suites are ideal for a small family and spacious enough to accommodate all personal belongings.

When making a reservation, you will get to choose between a standard experience or a gold experience. The Gold experience will give you an elevated amenities and services. The rooms have upgraded furnishings and linens, including the bathrooms which are marble-clad and are stocked with upgraded toiletries. With the Gold package, you are given access to the Fairmont Gold lounge located on the 18th floor, where a full breakfast buffet is served each morning and canapes and hors d’oeuvres are served in the evening.

Guests at the Royal York have complimentary access to the Indoor Pool and the Fitness Centre. The pool is 50ft long, but shallow at 4.5 ft. It is sky-lit during the day. There is a children’s wading pool as well as a hot-tub jacuzzi, sauna and a steam room. Clean Towels and lockers are available.

The fitness centre is extensively equipped with several cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, benches and stability balls. You can buy fitness gear at the hotel which will be delivered to your room. Personal training is available by appointment.

Pets are welcome at the Royal York for $50 per stay. There is a limit of 1 pet per room and they must be under 20lbs in size.

The hotel grows its own food and produces its own honey on the 14th floor garden an apiary. There are three restaurants on site. Reign Restaurant + Bar + Bakery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It serves a menu with ingredients that are local to Ontario. Some dishes reflect Toronto’s cultural diversity and the regional differences of Canada as a whole.

The Library Bar is a cozy den that is fabled for its cocktail menu. It also serves lunch and dinner with dishes that pair well with the drinks menu. The Clockwork is another bar and lounge that has several champagne based cocktails, in addition to wine, beer & spirits. Afternoon Tea is served on Saturday and Sunday with a large menu of teas and foods to choose from.

The Fairmont Royal York is Toronto’s premier location for hosting events, celebrations and weddings. There is an entire floor of function rooms dedicated to hosting events. The largest is the Canadian Room, which boasts a 13000 sq-ft space and can hold up-to 1670 people in a reception or 1260 table places.
Of particular interest are the Ballroom and the Concert Hall, which has a Casavant Frères pipe organ, the largest in Canada. The Ballroom has an oil painting on the ceiling and it is the most photographed room in Canada.

To the west of the hotel, you will find the historic Redpath Sugar Factory and just alongside it is sugar-beach, a small sandy park – but swimming here is prohibited and unsafe.

The Westin Harbour Castle comprises of 2 towers, each 35 storeys high. It has 977 rooms and suites, from where you can enjoy unobstructed view of the toronto islands, or if you choose instead, the downtown sky-scrapers.

The room configurations are a 1 king bed and 2 double beds. Some lake-view rooms have a balcony that are also furnished with outdoor furniture. Smoking is not permitted on the balconies and indoors.

The suites are more spacious, and allow for a dedicated entertainment area, complete with a person dinette. The larger suites can go up-to 1000 sq-ft in area, and offer a complete apartment living experience. The suites also have a 1 and 2 bedroom formats and you can choose form either a 1 king bed or 2 queen bed configuration for each bedroom.

The InterContinental Toronto Hotel is located on 225 Front Street West at the corner of Lower Simcoe. It is a 5 Minute Walk to the CN Tower and the Rogers centre, the Ripley’s Aquarium, Union Station, the Scotia Bank Arena and the Roy Thompson Hall.

The hotel has 584 rooms and suites across 25 floors. You get to choose either the lake view or the city view at the time of reservation.
Room configurations come in either 1 king bed or 2 double beds. Each room has free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, a Keurig coffee maker and an ergonomic desk and chair. A microwave can be requested for an additional $25 fee.

Guest can upgrade their experience by upgrading to an Executive room which has upgraded mattress, linens, toiletries and access to the Club Lounge. The lounge provides complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and all day snacks. With free wi-fi, it’s a great place to relax or get more work done.
