Milton is a town in Southern Ontario, and is known for being one of the fastest growing communities in Canada. It was historically the center of lumber production and stone quarrying, the pirmary materials for buinding and construction, throughout the province of Ontario. Today it is still a hub for manufacturing, agriculture, logistics and services.
The town has a long sporting history, producing many professional athletes in various sports. Today it boasts state of the art sporting facilities for hockey, football, indoor-soccer, cricket, curling, golf, swimming, skiing and cycling.
Miton is very popular as a commuter town, with easy access to Hwy 401 and Hwy 407. It is the northern terminus of GO Transit’s Milton Line form the Toronto Union Station via Mississauga.
Milton is therefore within an hour’s reach to Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Cambridge, Kitchener, Guelph and Toronto.
Milton is an ideal place as a rest-stop primarily because the rush-hour traffic congestion on the Hwy 401 west of Toronto currently begins and ends here.
