Newark Liberty International Airport (KEWR) is the oldest of the three, opening in 1928. It is located in New Jersey, with approximately the north half of the airport in the city of Newark, and the rest of the airport in the city of Elizabeth.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (KJFK) which opened in 1948, is the largest and the busiest of the three airports serving New York City.
It is located south of La Guardia in the Queens borough, on the shores of Jamaica Bay.

More than 90 airlines operate from JFK International. It is the busiest international air travel hub in North America. JFK is connected to all six inhabited continents with direct flights.
