Toronto Pearson International is Canada’s largest and busiest Airport. It is located within the city of Mississauga, just west of the city of Toronto. There are more than 50 hotels surrounding the airport. Choosing where to stay becomes important depending on where your primary place of conducting business will be.

For example if you will be visiting more clients and family in Toronto, Rexdale and Etobicoke, then you should be choosing a hotel on the east of the airport. It will save you much time and money in transportation.

Similarly, you will need to consider hotels on the west or north of the airport if you will be visiting Mississauga or Brampton.

You can take advantage of the free shuttle service if you need to go Downtown. Ride the shuttle to Terminal 1 and then take the UP Express train, which will take you to Toronto Union Station in 25 minutes.

Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Toronto International Airport

Sheraton Gateway Hotel stands just outside the doors of Terminal 3 of the Toronto Pearson Airport. It is the most recognizable landmark for any one arriving at Terminal 3. If your flight is delayed and you are given a voucher to a hotel or a lounge, chances are that it will be at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel.

It is connected to the LINK train that shuttles passengers for free between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. So, if you have landed at Terminal 1, just follow the signs for “Terminal Link” and take the train to Terminal 3. Once there, follow the signs to the Sheraton Gateway Hotel.

The hotel has 474 rooms and suites occupying 8 floors. One set of rooms face the airport runway and the rest face the city. If you simply book a room at the lowest rate, you will be given a room facing the city.

Every room comes with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a work-desk and chair and a coffee-maker. A refrigerator can be made available on request.

The suites have separate living and bedroom areas. The living room has a sofa-bed, therefore facilitating for additional sleeping space. The suites are ideal and economical for families and small groups.

Alt Hotel Toronto Airport

Alt Hotel, part of the Germain Hotels Group is located on 6080 Viscount Rd, just west of Hwy 409. It one of two hotels that are directly connected to the LINK train that shuttles passengers for free to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The Sheraton Gateway Hotel is connected to the LINK station at Terminal 3.

To get to the Alt Hotel from the airport, take the LINK train to Viscount Station (the last stop). Get down to the ground level and exit at the main entrance (don’t take the walkway to the parking garage). The Alt Hotel is just outside by a 1 minute walk.

The Alt Hotel has 153 rooms across 14 floors. It offers only a single bed and a two bed room configurations. The rooms are furnished with a desk and chair, a coffee-maker, free wi-fi and a flat-screen TV. There is no fridge or microwave.

The bathrooms are clean and stocked with toiletries, hair-dryer and clean towels.

Breakfast is served at the Altceteria Cafe, where you can choose form a menu of Breakfast platter, wraps, sandwiches, oatmeal and fruit-bowl.

There is a Sosta Pizzeria in the Lobby downstairs that serves pizza, pasta and salads. It also has a wine and beer menu.

Parking is available at the Alt Hotel for $20 per night. If you are looking for extended parking, then there is the Value Park Garage and Lot. Rates start at $30 per day but depending on the number of days you will leave your car, you can get a discount form 6% to upto 35%.

The Westin Toronto Airport hotel is located on 950 Dixon Rd, just outside the airport. You can get quite a good view of the air-planes and the airport tower form those rooms facing the airport. The Westin is an upscale brand of Marriott International. It is known for its signature “Heavenly Bed mattresses”, with a plush pillow-top.

The Best Western Premier is located on 135 Carlingview Drive, just under a 10 minute drive form the Airport Terminal. It stands just adjacent to Hwy 427 and about 3 minutes away from Hwy 401
