Ramadan Mubarak
It’s been more than a month since I last posted. Unfortunately, I haven’t been in the mood due to not-so-encouraging events at work last month. They let go more than twenty people and things still don’t look any brighter.
Anyway, moving on, the month of fasting, Ramadan began yesterday. This year the fasts are 16 to 17 hours long.
I woke up at 3:30 AM this morning to eat and finish eating before 4:16 AM. I’ll break my fast tonight at about 8:52 PM
When I feel really hungry, I just go to bed.
During work days, my manager has agreed I could come in for half a day unless there was a dead-line to meet. Then I would work for a full day.
Besides fasting, one other major activity we perform is the night prayer called – Taraweeh.
During any prayer, one is required to stand still with arms folded over the chest and listen to the Imam’s recitation of the Quran. And we are required to make proper bowings and prostrations in which we praise the Lord.
The video above is an exaggeration of what some people tend to do during prayer – which annoys every one else to no extent !
Enjoy !
