The graph depicts Emotion vs. Time, where positive values on the y-axis represent happiness and negative values represent sadness. Save the cosine diagrams for the math guys.
I’ve just landed here from a blog where the guy equates his life to a mathematical expression involving all sorts of horrible calculus functions (might wanna read about it here)

Numbers totally freak me out.
