In an office setting, the ubiquitous water cooler is a place for employees to discuss newsworthy events or simply office gossip. (You’ll usually see me near the coffeemaker instead).
Here at ManiaRavings, the “Water cooler” is simply a category for links to other websites - so it’s no novel idea ! Darren calls it “Speedlinking” for example, some call it “Linky Love” and others simply call it “From my RSS reader” - what a mouthful !
I should mention though, that some American Sports networks do use the term “Water cooler” to discuss off-beat sports stories. Continue reading

A WYSIWYG editor for ExpressionEngine

The default text area for publishing entries in ExpressionEngine is only partially WYSIWYG. It gets primitve when editing lenghty posts and working with images.
If you are not happy with any of the desktop solutions out there, an extension for ExpressionEngine exists, that will convert those text areas into rich text editors ! Continue reading
Playing with Flock 1.0 Beta

Flock is a Firefox based browser, that is developed with social networking in mind. I have been using it for a year and a half and it has become my favourite browser on Windows. Welcome to ManiaRavings new home!

It took several weekends but I have finally pulled it through ! There is so much to talk about this transition and it’s going to be difficult to put it all together considering the constraints of time and space. I am quite happy about how things have progressed over the last few months and I am more excited of my plans of dealing with this blog over the next year.
